Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman Greece

Sometimes dominant, sometimes under foreign domination, Greece was caught up in the general transformations that occurred in the Mediterranean in general over the centuries. It is not an easy period to define, as there was no territorial entity one could call Greece, but Greek culture did survive.
