A long road to democracy: Greece from Independance to 1975

Gaining independence did not, unfortunately, herald a happy age for Greece. Conflicts, schism, catastrophes, disasters, dictatures are words that keep cropping up for over a century and a half. However, finally, the country where democracy was born conquered those obstacles.
