This lecture was designed for cruises in the Western Mediterranean and the Adriatic, as many of the stops are linked to events that took place during the lifetime of Napoleon: Corsica, of course where he was born, but also Egypt, Italy, Spain, and the Adriatic coast which were all involved in the Napoleonic wars. Napoleon had promised he would be “a second Attila” to Venice. Is this how he should be remembered?
